Trimming of Betta fins for competition
Being reading up on some interesting old posts in the forum, came across this topic on trimming betta fins for competition.
Here is the link to the old posts. http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=303082 Personally i do not condone such practices. Does anyone knows how to identify bettas with trim fins??? |

whats the point of breeders wasting their time and energy to breed fishes with better finnages?
first we are killing their livelihood as a full time farmer secondly can it clear your conscience? thirdly do you feel proud when your salon fishes win ? in everycompetition there bound to be a cut fish if you breed enough and see enough you can easily spot out salon fishes you dont even need to doubt it but its god damn obvious if the hairdresser is so power to give it a natural look i give it to him , but if the skill half past six then sorry lah try harder next time hahahaha.... |

I just started a thread on this a couple of days ago.
http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=430751 Anyway, I don't think it should be done for show purposes. Unless it benefits the fish like when there are fin rot or the fish can't swim properly because of problems with its fins. |

I think that in such cases, the unsuspecting people who buy the fishes are the real victims. They don't even know it after spending large amounts of money on the fish, convinced that they have a 'show grade' or 'comp grade' fish.
sad. |
