Bro,
DSB or BB is just different school of thought.
Both have its pros and cons.
No matter we go for each one,as long as we know the requirements
it should be working fine.
Just my thought

Ya bro but do you know what are the equipment he is using to maintain to this stage and if you're not using the same equipment too then "brown algae" will visit you.

Fyi, this is happening in my Nano Berlin Tank and 2 turbo snails are cleaning them up but not fast enough.

Bro Ken, you probably need one to two platoon of "task-force" turbo snails to do the job. Don't over-work the crew, leh.. Usually I find most BB Tank have tons and tons of reinforcement to support and cover their "Bare-Bottom"..

It happens about 1.5 months and there's why why 2 snails are working OT and got no time to multiply like Bro Wlchew's ones.

Fyi, the water parameters taken on 2nd Oct were:

1) kH = 9
2) pH = 8.1
3) Mg = 1200
4) Ca = 390
5) PO4 = 0.1
6) NO3 = 10
