wats the 'effective' penetration depth for T5s
Hi bros...
another question...as above.. will T5 be effective if yer tank is 2.5 ft? Or T5 is better suited for 2ft and below? thx |

Max depth is about 2.5' for T5 HO tubes and should be ok for all corals (zoos, buttons, jewels, brain, etc) except for acros which needs strong lighting.
In this aspect, it is strongly advisable to place them as high as possible with T5 HO lighting. |

to be affective, its good for tank that is @ 1.5ft and below. for those who are using 2ft and above depth, it is more wise to use MH as it can penetrate deeper.
a good brand t5 bulbs is also important... but it still depends on what you keeping. my 2 cents |

i am using 8 X 54W T5...
i also feel that it isnt sufficient...planning to add two more MH... but might be suffice for certain lps...i noticed some of my lps are colouring up alot |
