Maintain Gold Head without WTT

Hi everyone, I'm new here. Can I ask if it is possible to maintain the gold head of my GHXB without white tank treatment?
But using very bright lights because I'm keeping a planted tank.

It's quite hard for me to change the Oyama paper at the back. I did consider putting a thin white sheet of acrylic at the back but it's hard to find a 6x2.5ft white plastic sheet haha.

Very nice xb you have in a huge planted tank.

Unfortunately, the gold head features unable to maintain in the environment that you have mentioned.

Btw, don't need to change background from black to white, as WTT doesn't means simply change the background to white.

WTT is more about light intensity, water clarity & light evenness etc. ..

The tail fin is crooked, likely to be caused by previous injuries. As the fin rays were injured, it may be tricky to recover this.

slight melting on the edge of fins indicates a below optimum environment. If fish is new to your tank, it is likely the previous environment is no good. Improving water quality can help recovery for this issue.

not very likely to retain the golden head in your tank environment.

P/S: is that a dorado in the first pic? Is it attacking your arowana? chewing on its fins?

Yes it was in a comm tank before this. This shot was taken just 15min, the Arowana was added into the tank.

Probably old injuries that recovered. Will trimming help with the crooked tail fin?

I just added it to the tank so probably will help recovery of the melting fins.

The Arowana took pellets almost immediately after entering the tank. I suppose it feels comfortable enough?

How do I retain the golden head then?
The dorado ignores it.. It's a friendly piece.(:

Would you be able to help me tweak my tank to help maintain the gold head?
I have pretty strong lights actually. To penetrate the depth for plants growth.

Sorry to disappoint you, if the base of the tank is not white and reflective, then there is no point for WTT as this is the primary key factor.
