I use cheap OHF like Dolphin .
Even my 50 gal is great on those so should not be a problem .

I using EOS (external overflow system).. effect not bad.

I think ur Hang on filter may not be able to handle e biowaste.. think minimum need OHF with strong biofiltration media.. jus my 2 cents.

filtration depends on size of tank. I had a 2-feet tank and i using the $3 bucks corner bubble filter. works well for me too.

Thumbs up

I believe that keeping ranchu is quite simple if you follow a few simple rules.
But as for filtration, a top filter with lots of coral chips/oyster shells (maintain pH) and wool will be more than enough. More importanly is that, you should be able to commit yourself to making 100% WC twice a week.

Default Tickle tower filter

Tickle tower filter, at least 1.5 feet tall... as long as water flow is moderate ...able to flow thru most of the holes in each container then its fine.

I dump my canister and start using TT filter as its convenient and easier to maintain, try it if u have the space...
