Huh.... how can I put it using qikimhee's example. Jap will have Jap features and Chinese will have Chinese features, Thai will be like a mix-blood of Japanese and Chinese.
Joke aside, if you are really interested to know how to differentiate different breed of ranchu, just do a search on this forum, there have been numerous discussion on this on previous postings already.

Firstly, do u know how to differentiate different origin in the first place? Secondly, do u know how to appreciate a good quality? Thirdly, do u know how to keep Jap ranchus?

If the answer is all yes, then i think high chance is u wont mind paying high price for it. U'll rather starve for a year, then not to buy them.

If your answer is no, esp for the first two questions, then what's the difference? Buy any fish that u like lor. Quality is not important any more.

BTW, bro Aero said Alvin has $50 jap ranchu coming in Jun/Jul. Check give it a try. but like wat bro laser had said, u'll be taking a bet bec young fish can turn out differently when they grow older. But at least u know that the fish alvin sells is real jap ranchu.
