Default Koi : "The Yamakoshi Year"

The Yamakoshi Year is the blog of Mark Gardner who is spending a year living in Ojiya, Japan, close to Yamakoshi, the home and heartland of production of Koi (Nishikigoi).

I find that this blog is gives more insight to koi farming than any book i've ever read. As this blog got no home page to start with, I chose to introduce this blog with a mud pond harvest page. Just look at the living jewels that emerge from the muddy waters.... never fail to take my breath away.

So much info in there that after a month plus of reading, i havnt finish all of it! It is a real good inside look at how farmers breed koi, select them, care for them, and show them.

And all the show koi pics are the best of every season. Awesome!

Maybe as we go along reading this blog, we shld just highlight one or two pics from the blog (like you have done) to keep the interest going and share what we learn or enjoy from there.

Here's another of my favourites... who say only Raju know how to carry guitar??

And this is Mr. Isa holding one of his prized Isa Showa..

Shiok!
