Goldfish do not have a stomach so it is good to let it rest for one day. As pumping it aggressively will damage the internal organ in the long run. Cheers

From my understanding from another source, this method of fasting 1 day is used for green water only. The fasting of 1 day is actually to force the ranchu to eat on the algea for the whole day before the changing of water.
It seem like now there are 2 explainations to this fasting of 1 day which I am quite confused which is the correct info
I think maybe both are right, What about putting up into this sentences,
"We need to fast the fish 1 day per week so that the fish can eat on only algea which will be good to the internal organ in the long run."
I don't know like this make sense or not?

Huh? That comments abt GW is not actually fasting right? Coz you are forcing it to eat the algae. Im stating (for my practise of clear water with algae wall) to fast it for a day to allow the GF to "rest" as GF do not have a digestive system/stomach. So Fasting/resting it for a day will like prevent the 'engine' (internal organ) from damaging.

same tub as then i will already scrub the algae wall and waiting for my T5 lights to grow them again.....of coz i on my T5+MH light more than 10hrs each day So the first day of water change will always be a no food day for my fishes. But the day before the water change i will add another 2 helping for my fishes
