Salah set to retain African Player of the Year award

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is set to be named 2018 African Player of the Year for a second successive time at a gala awards ceremony in Senegal Tuesday, report the AFP.

The sharpshooter is competing against fellow English Premier League stars, Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane from Senegal and Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal.

Consistent scorer Salah has already won the 2018 BBC African Footballer of the Year prize and it would be a shock if he did not add to his collection of individual honours in Dakar.

Should he be confirmed as the best footballer in Africa once again, Salah will become the first player from the north of the continent to claim back-to-back titles.

Looks like Klopp is gunning for PL title and CL.
Weak performances from the fringe players that failed to show that they’re capable of challenging the 1st eleven. The youngsters did ok though.

many Liverpool fans has never been happier after we lost a match leave the cups to other teams

looks like our squad depth still not that strong, time to dig into the transfer market again.

Default The unexpected Champions League boost for Liverpool after FA Cup exit to Wolves

Liverpool have been dealt an unexpected Champions League boost after being knocked out the FA Cup by Wolves at Molineux.

Jurgen Klopp's side exited the competition at the first hurdle after Raul Jimenez and Ruben Neves scored either side of a Divock Origi goal on Monday evening.

The Reds will now have two free weekends in January and in February while other clubs take part in the fourth and fifth round of the FA Cup.

The fourth round takes place on the weekend of Saturday, 26 January and the fifth round three weeks later on February 16/17.

That will mean Liverpool have a full 10 day break ahead of their Champions League tie against Bayern Munich at Anfield on February 19.

The Reds play Bournemouth at home on Saturday, February 9 and Klopp will then be able to turn his attentions to the next phase of European competition against the German giants.

Klopp has previously taken his side on warm weather training camps in Spain and he could choose to take their preparations away from Melwood for the game against Bayern.

If it means we have a 99% chance of winning #19, I would gladly give up the champions' league run against Bayern in February, so that we can concentrate on 1 game per week.

In my own opinion... Liverpool needs one prolific powerful, selfish striker.. like Diego Costa... EPL title will be within reach.

YNWA!!

have to disagree. we have 3 forwards contributing to the goals tally and for these past 2 seasons, we have not failed to score in many matches. Even this season, we are second in the goals scored column for the premier league. Having dependency on a main goal scorer is very tricky, any period of loss of form or injury means the whole team suffers. Chelsea was dependent on Costa and after he left, they have struggled in the goal scoring department. We definitely don't want that at our club
