Sorry. I have only read the reports on zaobao and yahoo. Maybe the coach is a meditation expert. From what i know they sometime practice in cave. But a few km in is way too too deep to venture into.

Rescuing 13 Trapped In Cave, Thailand
I read on the news the coach learnt meditation during his monk days so he taught the boys to meditate inside the cave to keep calm
Cave diving is also a very different technical diving skills, in most cases the caves water visibility are ok then they dive But this one is muddy water inside the caves so visibility could be zero all rely on touching Last edited by foxwagon; 06-07-2018 at 08:14 PM. |

Looking at the cave illustration, they are now under the sea? Then how to drill chimney to rescue them?

Based on what I read all this period...
- retired Navy SEAL - Out of Air and not over exert etc - water visibility as good as zero due to murky water - several KM in, takes 11 hours to trek and dive on round trip - rescuers drill more than 100 holes trying to locate them and see if they can extract them The ex SEAL ran out of air. Why? Beats me. Maybe he didnt check or he thought he have enough air to exit? It's a situation no divers wants to be in. The dead diver did have a buddy but zero vis means when trouble struck,t buddy may not even realised he was OOA to pass him the spare regulator. It's a sad tragic. I've experienced OOA, and it's scary. Swallowed a few mouths of water in that experience. For those who dont dive. Murky water means no matter how strong torch lights are, it's still zero visibility. It's like a cup of tea. It's totally different from night dive or leisure cave dive. Why did they end up many KM into that cave? Beats me but my guess is, they may have realised they are in serious trouble. Some boys are familiar with that cave so could have led the team to the cave with highest ground so they dont get fully submerged in a low ceiling cave. No point blaming the coach. Likely he dont realise the situation not the monsoon would have flooded the cave and trap them inside. He wouldn't want to be there in the first place if he knew. Btw there was another accident relating to this kission, where a vehicle skidded in e dirt track and several are seriously injured. Keeping fingers crossed no more accidents and deaths in this mission. |

Our mrt engineers can easily drill a hole to where they are.
