Rivals enter the race for Reds target
It seems that LIverpool could be battling with old foes Manchester United - plus a certain Real Madrid - for the signature of Porto star Eder Militao. The 20-year-old defender is on the radar of Europe’s big clubs after a string of impressive displays and a £42.5million early get out clause in his contract. According to Spanish publication Marca, Real have watched the Brazilian international, who is supposed to be on the Reds radar, in recent weeks and the scouting reports have been positive. |

Mohamed Salah named PFA Player of the Month
Mohamed Salah has won the PFA Player of the Month award for December. The Liverpool forward scored six goals to help his side win all seven of their Premier League matches last month, a run that took the Reds clear at the top of the table. And a fan poll saw Salah came out on top over Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Ricardo Pereira, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford to land the prize. The No.11 becomes the third Liverpool player to receive the PFA’s monthly accolade this season, after Sadio Mane (August) and Virgil van Dijk (November). |

Numbers game for Hoever
Liverpool have handed 16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever a first-team jersey ahead of him potentially becoming the club’s youngest FA Cup player on Monday night reveals the Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe. Hoever will be named in the travelling squad to face Wolves. He will be the third youngest Liverpool player of all time if he features, but their youngest in this competition. He is competing with another teenager, Rafa Camacho, for a place at right-back in a much-changed line-up. Camacho, an 18-year-old from Portugal, is more likely to start. But Liverpool pressed a jersey for Hoever over the weekend and he will wear No 51, which indicates at the least he may take a position on the bench. It demonstrates his rapid rise since joining from Ajax last summer, opportunities emerging after injuries to Joe Gomez and Joel Matip and the exit of Nathaniel Clyne to Bournemouth. |

Ejaria set to join Reading
Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria is set to join Reading on loan for the rest of the season writes James Pearce. The 21-year-old has travelled south to undergo a medical after a deal was agreed with the Championship strugglers. Ejaria returned to Liverpool last month after his season-long loan at Rangers was cut short at his request. He scored twice in 28 appearances for the Scottish Premiership title contenders. Liverpool received a number of offers to secure his services for the second half of the season and he has accepted the opportunity to link up with Jose Gomes’ Reading squad. |

Reds respond to Turkish rumours
Liverpool have been linked with a £27million swoop for Trabzonspor midfielder Abdulkadir Omur. However, the Reds have no intention of making a move for the talented 19-year-old who has been dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’. James Pearce reveals: The ECHO understands that Omur is not currently a target for Jurgen Klopp, who is unlikely to add to his squad during the January transfer window. |
