I comment hor, erh ...

That's not green water leh, like water not change for weeks. According to the bros here, the green water is like erh ... green and only can see fish a little... translucent i think. Watever lah. Also hor, suppose to see fish red red in green water, your fish like fading off.

Anyway, your fish so big, the tank so small. Wah liao, u got check your water parameters or not ?

bro wet desrt,
erm....those guys were right....
tats green but not greenwater.....hehehe

and to everyone,
i am wondering, in order to obtain greenwater, sunlight is a must...
but will the heat from the sun cause harm to the fish??
like those outdoor ponds we see on Jap website.....
i mean the afternoon sun in SG can be damn strong

maybe can use deeper water, or black netting on the top to reduce the intensity?

bro... use shade. even in japan they practise that.

partially cover the tub... between the shade and tub, leave a gap say an inch for ventilation.

The way to tell is scoop some water and put into a white container. If the green is the same as the green algae on the glass inside the tank, then you have 'green' water. If water is yellow. cloudy or brown, then you have dirty water and green algae...not green water!

As long as Amonia and Nitrite is within acceptable levels, green water is harmless to fishes unless your air stone is off!!!
