Default My New/DIY setup

Hi All,

Is been a while, just to share my humble DIY filter system for my ranchu:

New OHF and DIY surface filter (HOF on DIY for better filtering)

The reason for doing this is because, as everyone notice that goldfish's poo will float eventally and this DIY surface is to suck in the poo.

New filter media introduced after some homework research

Thanks for sharing bro Patrik. Nice DIY. What's the size? 3ft?

Wow your filter media looks overkill...hehe. What's in the bottom tray? Can't really tell. I like the idea of the skimmer.

Is it me or the photo, but the front part of the tub looks warped?

I suggest you might want to add a little rectangular basket with holes (those you find in $2 shop) to hold the pump in your tub. This is to avoid your fishes to have any direct contact with it and avoid getting sucked.

Try to add in a few goldfishes and do the cycling with fishes too.

Bottom tray are biohome and biohome plus (red).
I will add in a net later on as I want a faster flow rate on cycling now.
the tub not warped yet but the angle I'm taking the photo hehehe

The gf must be glad to be housed in such proper planned DIY filtering system.
