Can arowana be kept in planted tank?

I seldom seen arowana kept with plant and substrate in the tank.
Some soils help to maintain ph in the tank, which usually happen in shrimps tank.
Soil that buffer to 7.2ph, benibachi golden soil but will those stuff affect arowana? Or maybe too heavily lighted tank get negative effect on the arowana color?

Are arowana easy to keep? My father would like to keep a arowana. He used to keep parrot fish and kois when he was younger but now no strength to keep liao.
I so far only interested in planted tanks and shrimps.
So I was given the task to learn how to keep a arowana before we move to a new house and start a 4-5ft project. Will keep stingrays and a arowana.

My mother say if arowana die damn badluck. So I need to learn how to keep a arowana before actually buying it. I do not really believe in it but my mother will be sad I guess if arowana really die.

I see people alway talk about opting on their arowanas in this forum. Is it a need? They just opt to make their tail wider right?

How much WC do I need to do every week. just pour the aged water in? Better to use distill water?

Thats about it for now. I more worry about arowana being sick, cause I never kept a monster fish before and I see people struggling to keep it alive. Because When it fail sick and I never ID it. then by the time I notice, it might be too late.

I like the super gold arowana haha.

Of course you can keep arowana in planted tank. It is said to create a soft and king place for the arowana since the arowana is known as the dragon fish. However, I don't think it's possible to keep stingrays in planted tank. The ray will have no place to lie flat. Maybe might wanna decide to have only 1/5 of the tank planted and the rest just sand to allow the ray to enjoy. Not sure if this is possible. I ever thought of this but no chance to try it out.

Yes , sure u can , intact it is natural to fishes .

I use to keep aro in planted tank n my plant are all short grow type thus top portion had lot of space for aro to swim around

You should totally have some plants for your arowana. Plants can help improve your water quality. My arowana likes to swim among the grass to play.

i think shldnt be a prob bro, seen many aros doing well in planted setups.

Their setups are very stunning.

From setting up to maintenance must be very labour intensive.

As shown in the pic, it can really be stunning and eye catcher. But problem to note is if you feed live feeders, they can play hide and seek with your aro...
