what abt .. selection ? and of coz .. the best place to get them ?

for the past few years , I have been monitoring imports of Chinese bred ryukins ... well, to my untrained eyes , some of them quality are so 'good' (to my untrained eyes) , that I'll easily think that they are from Japan ...

any finer points in ryukin selection ?

Try Mainland Tropical Fish Farm. They are one of the best Ryukin importer in S'pore but make sure you pick the new arrivals. Don't trust their centralized filtration system.

Ryukin from China now comes in Long tail, medium tail and the short tail version. Hump must be pronunced and the overall shape of the body got to round.

Went 35A at Pasir Ris Farm last Sunday, they had just imported 3 weeks ago, high quality Hong Kong Short Tail Ruykins with pronunced hump and good red/white combination. Selling at $90 ~ $120. Go check them out.

Actaully the other time I went Mainland at Pasir Ris they got alot of Ryukins. They got both the long and short tail strains.

Personally I prefer the short tail type....be it Ryukin, Black Moore or Telescope.

same here, the short tails strains looks cuter . Find tat long tail tends to bend and somehow curl if water condition is bad.
am i right?
