Default Aeration of marine tank

Hi

Is it necessary to aerate a marine tank to dissolve oxygen (by means of airstone or pumping sucked air to create bubbles) or will it suffice just to ensure water is properly circulated in the tank (without bubbles). Mine is a 4 footer tank with some live rocks (FOWLR). I prefer no bubbles to have better view. Thanks for advice.

It'll be sufficient to just ensure plenty of water movement within the tank, keep some of the water flow directed on the surface. Water movement on the surface encoruages gaseous exchange and aerate the water.

Thanks the advice. Appreciate it very much. I have sealed the air hole in my filter outlet flow, now no bubbles and the fishes are doing as fine. Much better viewing.

for a marine tank a protin skimmer is very important

i believe that your tank have a slump and you can fit a protin skimmer there.

with tha skimmer turn on, i dun think you'll need additional air supply.

Hopes this helps.
