ermm....i dunno if we tokking about the same peas.....but its the same type that we eat too. Buy frozen type not those can type.
Boil till it turns soft (about 3mins) remove the outer shell then u feed. Remember to starve your fish for 3 days first k?

In future buy sinking food and must soak them in water for at least 3mins pior to feeding.

For this type of problem is usually see how you chose a fish. Shape problem usually cause this problem.

Ayah, why ask those LFS uncle, they know how to keep fish meh. They only know how to sell their products. The point is has anyone see them keep a goldfish and grow it big and nice. They sell fish does not mean they are expert in keeping fish or in the position to advise on curing fish diseases. I am sure we don't go to KFC and ask for advice on keeping chicken.
