Yes, if the shutter speed is slow, it will cause blur image. As shutter speed is slow, you tend to shake your hand too when taking the photo unless you use a tripod. Beside that, to take a moving object like your aro, you need to have fast shutter speed to so call freeze the aro so the picture will turn out sharp. It also depends on the lens that you are using if you are using a DSLR.

There are 2 causes, one is motion blur. That is due to slow shutter speed.
The fish is in motion and the speed is too slow to freeze it.
The other is hand shake, this is a common problem when speed is slow.

To shoot aro swimming, I usually use manual mode with flash.

nowadays camera v clever, just choose sports mode or icon w running man, can catch moving object like car.
however lighting is v important for digi cameras

Depends on the type of digi cam that you are using. If it's DSLR, you can choose a faster shutter, but you'll need to compensate for the faster shutter speed by either choosing a bigger aperture, i.e. bigger aperture = smaller F stop, increasing your ISO number or using flash.

If it's a normal point and shoot cam, then choose the setting with the running man, use force flash if necessary.

Hope this helps

Besides these, the 3rd cause are due to low lighting. If the lighting can be increase like adding more lights or using external flash or wait for the aro swim near to the light source, the shutter speed will be enhanced as well.
