Default compact flourescent vs normal flourescent bulb

anybody using compact flourescent lamp for their planted tank?
is this better than the ordinary flourescent bulb in terms og lighting and energy savings?

compact flourescent lamp is commonly know as PL lamp, you can do a search & you'll get many threads discussing about it.

The only difference is that PL tube doesn't require a start to fire up, it is actually flourescent tube which is bent with a return loop doubling the light emission using a shorter length.
