In my view, minister's pay must be tied to other countries of similar economic, size to Singapore and not tie to top Singaporean earner as this is part of natiional duty and should not be totally measure by dollars & cents. There is a possibility to attract money seeking people into politics...Our 1st generation leaders did not have high pay but they were responsible, capable and competent.

Fully agreed........however their 2nd and 3rd Generations thought they deserved more and started increasing their pay like our transport fare.........
