Yes, i looks ugly, but when i put it outdoors only, can view from the top so not a problem.

Won't be decorating the boxes, as i will be placing them outdoors, the set-up can only be viewed from the top, quite hard to explain but will get some pictures soon

Have received some PM about how/ where i get the grasshoppers, so decide to share it here.

For the places to find grasshoppers i won't mention it here as they are very common and you won't want to travel to the other end of Singapore just to get some food for your frogs right?

You can find them in grasses, usually tall grasses with little human interference have the most grasshoppers.

As for catching, this 'job' i would say, is a very tiring and time consuming process. Only for those who have free time and enjoys catching.

I used to catch them using hands, 1 by 1..but now have since changed to using net. I find that using net would catch more, but would also catch unwanted insects such as spiders/ ants.

You forgot to mention make sure the place is not been sprayed with insecticide before.

Ahh....yes, thats a very important point. Thanks for reminding.

Anyway, usually for those places with little human interference, i doubt the place would be sprayed with insecticide.

Just watch out for snakes(have not seen one yet), red ants(very common, their bite is pain!), dog poo(places where people bring their dogs for walk).

Other than that, those who plan to catch, enjoy the process!

ya, not enjoyable, however i see it as an exercise and seeing that my frogs enjoying the grasshoppers makes me want to go and catch again. I guess thats what motivates me to catch food for them
