has any1 tried using fine wire mesh as a filter for the 1st line of defense ?
those fine type ones. im thinking it would be easier to wash then filter wool. |

I rather you use those sponge type of filter, at least, it will not corrode over time and introduce heavy metals into your water.

It chokes pretty fast if you have large debris like dead leaves.
