Default Triglachromis otostigma

Hi all, acquired some these tanga apistos recently and i must say this is really one fascinating tanga fish. From my observations, they show zero conspecific aggression but yet can be quite relentlessly when chasing other fish. I find this really intriguing as my grp of 6 would simply just flare at each other at best. This was really in stark contrast to other tangas.. say... lelepi/buescheri. Was wondering if any old birds or slping dragons out there can share their experiences in keeping this amazing fish.

Anyway, i have separated 2 of them into a 2x1.5 tank as shown above. Read on some forums tt their dorsal can be used to sex them although there are diff accounts on which shld be the f/m. Im in need of advice from anyone who had kept/bred them before. Is this setup ok?? Old birds please come forth! Slping dragons pls awaken! Huat ah!

Nah... i cut a hole on the sponge divider for the pvc pipe to go through... they can swim freely between both sides. Din wanna forgo the sponge cos i thot it helps with my bio filtration. And shld the pair fight... i can just flip the sponge the other way

Lol... apparently they prefer the pvc pipe compared to the other caves... both will chiong in the moment they get startled. Aggression wise im not too worried cos they dun fight at all... which makes identifying a pair difficult... really cant tell sia. Was hoping to get some advice from exp keepers...

Nice!

These mud fish can really dig.... so much so that even heavy rock piles can also collapse if they are built over sand or gravel.
