Default Small setup

Very new into shrimp recently.

A small tank with some cheap pieces as a start up.

.

2 days ago saw some tiny white worms on the bedding.
What are those, are these common, is it harmful to shrimp and how to get rid of them.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Hi those are detritus worms, they are an essential part of the tanks eco system as they break down waste and left over food. It also means your tank is doing well as they are multiplying

Multiplying??? Sound dangerous... Will they start to conquer the tank? Ended worms as pet not shrimp??

That is something for us to take note. Unless there are fishes inside..
But fishes mean no shrimplets.

I used to have this issue in my old tank. I did 3 things and it got better.

1. Introduce mosquito rasbora, so far serve me well. Well meaning they don't attack my shrimplets.

2. Control feeding. To once a week. Used to be daily. I also reduce the amount I feed.

3. Off the light more often so they will crawl out. Once u on the light u will see them so just ney them out.

Hope these helps! I kinda think that getting a feeding fish to prevent left over food to go down the sub should help too!
