Nice design when adult. I cannot see the gills on the adult. The gills will retract in rich oxygen water like the salamander?

Its there if you look closely. See where the ending part of the gill cover. quite small as compared to the size of the adult fish.

Really got a tiny one. The rest should went inside. If stay outside look like dragon.

I've been tempted by the african lung before...

But the lfs uncle was like... nice hor.. but need to keep alone one, unless u wan to wake up to a massacre, ask me go back and think if i wan to seperate the fishes. (like wad he did to me with the aba..)

But this one seems to max out.. smaller?

Aba aba is a strange fish that even fight and tear up filter sponge.


According to online info, this lung species max abt 20inch.

Ok leh... not tat huge. I really wonder if size make any difference to their aggression.

Some online info indicated that they top at 17inch.

So I think 3x2x2 can house them for quite sometime. Since they live a long time, it will take quite sometime to reach to over 1ft.

4x2.5 will be pretty ideal.
