advise for 6ft tank placement
hi all need you kind advise to double confirm whether can HDB floor loading hold the weight
got a newly 6ft x 2.5ft x 2.5ft with 4ft sump and wooden cabinet, approx weight of the whole set is 1200kg (over a ton!!! ) plan going to place the tank against a wall (btw bedroom and dinning room). see attached photo. I got 2 options here, need you comment and feedback. any advise wether my placement is ok???? Will the floor able to hold? or do I need to shift to other location. also want to know who has got a 6ft tank with the similar setup that able to give me some advise. I have checked with the tank maker and some bro here in this forum, all say shouldn't be any issue. but I still abit worry, hence need 2nd and 3rd opinion. |

personally I prefer option 1, and also my wife doesn't really allow for option 2 because it will make the space entrance to the living room smaller, but option2 got a beam and cross beam across to other side of the wall.
now I really confuse where is the best location to put the tank. |

Option 1 will save you space. option 2 will make your living room look weird, although there is a beam there.

Those walls in black r the main pillars...very strong. Ideally anything heavy placed next to it will be safe needless to say...they r the best location for tanks. My 1st choice will be to wack partial of the wall away and place the tank there..but this location means sacrificing part of a room...and cost more. Pro part is that its more pleasing, very safe since its next to the main beam and u have a bigger dinning area. 2nd choice is the location in red. At least its placed near to the toilet...and if u have extra budget can ask the plumber to run extra tap and drainage for u at that location, makes water change very easy n non messy for u in future. 1.2 ton...ur cabinet cant have point load weight. Let ur tank maker know and it should be ok. |

Another way is to do minor change to the entrance of bedroom and place the tank next to the wall of the bomb shelter. (sorry drawing not accurate) Total length of shelter wall is 2100mm ur 6ft is 1830mm so if u can wack off the small wall of the door and push it back alittle...it can be done.
