Can refer to thread in

thanks bro for the information
Wow you are spot on about where i caught it .. ok dinner time for my red aro :P this matches it The ones you catch from the reservoir are Cherax Quadricarinatus, or the Australia Red-Claw Crawfish/Crayfish. These have a red colouring on the outer portion of the claws (on the males only), and have slimmer claws than Cherax Destructor. |

hi. Thats quite big. Used to catch these crayfishs near my place......Overfish so no more, btw they are from Australia(commonly called yubby) so actually for those who released these crayfishs into our reservoirs, they are not helping our native fauna. Btw, these specie of crayfish is very hardy. I even much to breed them.
In a way, for my place (abundant quarry turned into a park), good they are gone. Btw, the main reason they are caught till disappear, these crayfishs are nice to eat, yes edible, bigger than prawn (caught one about 1 feet), taste sweet and better than lobster. |

i caught 4 in the park, these buggers hide under the rocks, have to lure them out with bait..and trap them
they sure bolt out fast..but we have kinda trap them using nets judging from the catch ..i think there are lots of them here at the park about eating them....i am not too keen..unless someone else takes them and survive... |

They may be bigger than normal MP, but too little fresh inside. |

Are we allowed to catch yabbies from the reservoir? The authorities won't chase us away?
