Default chiller query

hey guys.. chiller finally arrived.. resun 450.. is it suitable for my tank? its 4ft.. dunno the exact dimensions.. but got pics in my gallery..

Well, some will tell you it's definately not enough. for me, i believe it's sufficient. read the label, it will tell you more.
A 1/6 hp for a 4 ft should not be a problem.
some LFS i know using a 1/4 hp for their 6ft tk!

well, i am using resun cl280 for my 4 ft.
my temp is between 25.9 - 26.1

I have 4 powerheads consuming 90watts in total
and 6 PL consuming 216watts in total.

I found resun 650 very noisy and very hot.
lucky i did not buy, as i met 1 guy who bought it and 2 days i wants to move it outside his house.
He says "tank cold, man hot"

it usually takes couple of hours for it to bring down to desire temp

pls provide info of equipment in use (powerheads / lights), surrounding temp, near heat sources,
set temp

ok.. ummm working already.. finally... but what temp do u guys suggest i set it at? currently dad set it at 27.. but i feel its not low enuf?? he said 25 the fish will get white spot.. how true it that?

try 26 today

try tomorrow 25

white spot if water parameters are good - white spot is thing of history

miracleman,

Ich is caused directly by all forms of stress, and not by cold temp. on its own. Of cos, if the temp. drops to 15C, all bets are off
