U now know it can last at least 12 hrs.

Seems like enough time to react to find help.

Perhaps u could get those machine which sends you SMS when the power goes off. Cost below $150 depending on how complicated you want the thing.

So if your overseas and you get the text. You have at least 12hrs and Could just request a relative or good friend to help drop in to help check.

Strange , I bought the same ups as you . I connect a hiblow baby with low setting ( about 8watt) only , the battery seem to be dead with few hours . Seem useless to me .

May be the battery will last longer after the second full charge , will try that again .

Based on the specs , the battery is only 9ah only , not sure 1 or 2 battery inside ?

U know how to disable the buzzer beside masking tape it ?

If planning for backup power supply at home, can get electrical worker to install and separate DB for your air pump.

This way, if there is electrical cutoff due to faulty appliances, only the main will be cutoff. The sub main will not be affected.

Alternatively, those using battery UPS will need to have trickle charge to maintain the battery in good condition.

its a calculator to see how long the ups can keep running base on the device plug to it.

actual fact it wont last you a long time unless you get a big one.

Tested twice , last 50 min with the followings connections :

Ehiem 1260 pump
AC/DC ranger 9000
Hiblow baby ( low setting )

Is it normal for 2 month old UPS ?

Another bro mentions , with hiblow 20 + fluval sp6 pump , still going strong after 15 hours with same ups . No idea why different so much ?

moonwalker is right.

i retested it and found my earlier test to be very erronous. i think i can only attribute it to not pulling out the plug totally and it was able to charge randomly in between. cause upon reading his experience i pulled out the plug totally n retested a total of 3 x. all 3 x lasted 20-25 mins only.

my apologies for the wrong info given, and a big thanks to moonwalker because otherwise i'll happily be contented with it and assumed it's working well enough.

now it's definately not sufficient and i have to start looking for a better alternative haiz.

the problem is nowadays HDB quite common for them to cut off power supply for 1 or 2 hours while they perform upgrading or maintainence. n none fo the battery operated air pumps are sufficient for my liking as i have quite a few tanks with high bioload.

any other viable options? thx
