Question Eric's Koi Filter question

Hi,

anybody here familiar with Erics koi Filter?
Planning to have a DIY Erics filter for pond, can an erics Filter be used when the box is not rectangular?

also Does an Erics filter have to be small?
or can it be sized 8 feet x 2 feet?

thanks.

The design of the filter shown in the picture is being use by koi keepers and Japan breeders for a long time. It can be any size as long as the inlet flow from one end and outflow from the other end to the pond. IMHO.

Go google koi pond filter, you may get an idea of this type of filter design.

Rectangular shape easy to make as compare to odd shape. Adapt the filter design to your house pond area.

Most important for the koi filter is the water flow rate of the inlet and the outlet.

Why not??

I see it still can be rectangular or squarish maybe smaller in size. Unless there is underground piping that cannot be remove.

The filter chamber can be L shape too. It can act as a viewing platform. IMHO.

Bro,

Some dealers swear by Jap mat even for bio filtration.

I believe it would work fine esp for maintenance.

Abit regret the ton of momo bacteria house, biohome+, crystal bios I spent on my filter.

Btw, excited to know another keen koi khaki.. welcome to the hobby!
