I normally go to bt timah jalan jurong kechil there buy PVC pipe. Then DIY. Buy pipe ,buy PVC glue , buy cheap saw. Bring pump adaptor or whatever I need to measure size. And distance that determine raw material. If just piping for internal only( within tank then no need glue. As it will be quite tight fit. So need time can disassemble. If u want transparent pipe then well equip lfs like c328, polyart, seaview, should have everything I need. Else if u engage pros like sgbros, will be pricy. If u wanna DIY rain bar will be a bit tricky as u will need a hand drill. Or lfs got sell off-the-shelf rainbar

If use PVC glue, use sparely and 1 day for drying. Normally 2 hrs good enough. Save cost is do yourself. Plan wat u need . Hardware shop like I mentioned fire PVC piping will have all the pvc pipings joints elbows caps etc. Else u can take pic or sketch wat u have .get advice here and pple here can help u to plan wat items u need. Pics shows a thousand words

PVC glue should be safe.. our water pipes sometimes gule by contractors using it.. and we still alive
But if you use PVC glue, you will not be able to dismantle it in future. You can also use those white water pipe tapes instead for tighter fit. |

consult friends who are into DIY. some form of DIY is quite fun and it just make fish keeping more interesting.
in addition, when you do it yourself. you know what to do during emergency. |

1) You just need an internal pump, make sure the flowrate is suitable for 2ft ones; 2) Bring yr internal pump to lfs....example Petmart look for Ben, tell him how many trays high u setting for OHF and he will get you all the transparent pipings and connectors. 3) Once you got yr pipings/connectors, buy some white tapes and wrapped the white tape over some joints/connectors before assembly them. Good to go. For 2ft tanks u don't need all the hassle to DIY with PVC pipes. Unless you have huge tanks and also trying to improve on the pipings for easy water changes or trying to connect all tanks pipes together, then maybe you should DIY imo. If still in doubt, you can contact me, u have my number bud. Hope it helps. |
