hey bro llewellyn
your rabbit again! i like that rabbit. ya i am just wondering if 2 Tom800 is better than 1 Shanda SDP-10000A. i not not sure too? maybe some bros have experience using 2 smaller pumps instead of 1 big pump... not sure how effective it can be? thanks |

I find that they lose more strength in flowrate compared to eheim. Think of them as 4rd gear pumps and Eheim as 2nd gear pumps.
Eheim uses more electricity but can maintain the flowrate better over piping movement. Use a higher flow rate pump than required cos it does lose quite a bit. A Jebao 5k LPH will probably work the same as a 1264 which has a 3.4-3.6k flow rate if your piping is complicated. Its still less than half the price and uses less wattage. You need a bigger compartment in the slum cos the pump is big. Last edited by lincolngoh; 01-08-2013 at 05:45 PM. |

Logical but do you mean that if the pump is low wattage the flow rate going through a complicated series of piping flow rate will drop by alot. where else if i use a 1264 high wattage pump going through a complicated series of piping flow rate will only drop slightly? Let take this two pump as a comparasion. Ehiem 1264 is rated at 4500l/hr @ 3.5m head for 100watts iwaki MD-40rx is rated at 4500l/hr @ 3.3m head for 85watts. I wonder this pump will maintain the flow rate thru a series of complicated pipe. |

hello bros,
any more options for a large pump? 1) so far Shanda SDP-10000A looks ok. 6500L/hr 100w but the 100w is still seems too high for my liking and i duno how reliable is it... lolz 2) Atman AT107 is finally out of my mind... cos my bros say electric leakage... 3) how about RIO 20? |
