Default Malaysian Box Turtles

I overheard my father saying that the Malaysian Box Turtles is now an endangered species and under protection. He is unsure if the information is accurate.I am just curious and wonder if any brothers or sisters have any info on this.

all along many type of turtle are endangered, even for red ear slider in USA.

anyway, AVA allow the malayan bvox turtle to be sold in singapore. But the condition they set are quite bad for the seller. Seller need to educate buyer about the turtle, thing like poster, flyer, etc etc. very troublesome leh.

maybe due to that, sellers, even like big player ( e.g rainbow, qian hu) are still not selling yet.

i heard from a co worker who used to eat shan rui, that even shan rui is hard to get these day. many shan rui resturant are turning to selling other food also.

since the MBT is a CITES protected species, bringing in from malaysia will be troublesome.

i'm just wondering if the MBT is sold, does it also mean that they will be tagged and come with a cert, just like the arowana?
