Default how to prevent PLJ developing?

hi all,
got myself a XB (but more like a HB) but happy with it due to the gold shine on it (i like clasic gold shine, no blue base nothing)

however, realised, it is starting to develop PLJ.... how to prevent it from worsening?

PLJ is genetics and cannot be avoided...u can only 'pump' up yr aro to make it less obvious....

the real cause of PLJ is not well understood.
however, some knowledge we know through fishkeepers' experience.
1) PLJ rarely happen when fishes were kept in pond. A farmer told me PLJ never happen in pond raised fishes.
2) PLJ seem to be related to tank size
3) PLJ and dropped eyes (DE) can be reversed by keeping the fish in pond for a period of time.

real cause of plj is genetics, and to a certain degree, malnutrition, although it's more likely that malnutrition just makes plj more obvious or making it appear earlier rather than directly causing it.

1) i've seen plenty of aros raised in ponds with plj.. and aros in the wild have plj too.
2) an adult aro kept in a 3-4 ft tank may or may not have plj. likewise an adult aro kept in a 6-10 ft tank may or may not have plj. wouldnt be the case if plj was indeed related to tank size.
3) DE can b reversed by keeping in pond yes, but PLJ being reversable in pond... doesnt happen. same as point 1.

pls correct me if i'm wrong, plj n DE have been common debate topics forever, and i'm all for learning and trying out any method that may work for rectifying PLJ (apart from minor plj and pumping the aro up (which isnt really a cure)... and cosmetic surgery (not a method i'll use personally).

I second this, nothing you can do to prevent it unfortunately as its genetics.

Not ready a PLJ in these pictures, perhaps not obvious, but like bro sbtanpatrick mentioned, pump up your Aro, hopefully it doesn't becoming obvious, if it is PLJ.

Bro, increase your wc frequency for the protruding scales.

It's the water parameters in the tank.

I would also reduce feeding too.
