Ray with no sting?
Bros, thinking of adding a ray in my tank. It is very pretty and unique. Saw quite many bros got stung by rays. Definitely don't want to experience it. Is there any fresh water ray out there that has no sting?

I got stung before.
It was painful but a reall experience to respect the ray. Now i can say I've really been poisoned by rays! Heck of a story to tell during gatherings! |

Many bros in the forum shared their stung experience so I thought it is a likely event. Even unlikely, I am not going to risk it. I thought maybe there are some rays that have no sting naturally. No tail ray looks a bit strange. Maybe one day some bro can breed one strain that has no sting.

The sting us part of tge ray dna.
To have rays occur naturally without sting would mean playing with dna and genetics. Its not going to be something bred out just like that. Its like saying... maybe someone can breed out dogs without mouths so they won't bite and bark. |

if you respect the ray by not enroaching their personal space with bare hands, not do anything drastic, take precaution all the time, you should be fine. Except if you've got a rogue ray that like to charge with litle "agression", then it is an exceptional case. happy ray keeping.
