Help, suggestion and advices
I'm a newbie Betta owner which need some help from pros here.
Background I have 2 Betta each housed in a 150ml container, every 5 days i do 100% wc. Either aged water with anti chlorine or tap water with anti chlorine. I also placed 1/4 if ktp leaf inside. I feed them FBW 2x per day and no feeding 1 or 2 days per week. Que 1: I know I need to siphon the Black poo at the bottom of tank, can I know where can I buy and appreciate if there pic of that equipment to siphon? Que 2: I notice beside poo, there are white sticky slimy strains inside the tank may I know wad r those and how to avoid. As my Betta tail sometime stuck some of those. 100% not leftover FBW because I feed piece by piece. Que 3: when the KTP leaf sink into the bottom of tank, due to the leaf odd shape, some look like a "tunnel" Betta like to swim in and out. Is it because they are bored in a empty tank? I'm thinking doing a DIY floating tunnel toy using water pipe, any issues of that? Que 4: beside FBW, what other food can I feed and where to purchase. I tried atison "pink" but Betta poo is abit orange this I avoid that and after all its processed food. Tubiworm I tried, Betta like it but its hard to maintain thus avoid too. Any suggestion beside FBW? Que 5: one of my Betta can't flare, but it will rush towards the direction of another Betta during daily flaring session. I tried mirror flaring, it work but he only flare abit and stop. How can I help him? Thanks for reading, just hopping to give the 2 fellow a better living condition. Thus may pro here guide me... Amendments: they are housed in 1500ml container and not 150ml.

no. 1 - i think if you do a more frequent wc (to daily or once every 2 days), you can ignore the little amount of poo. more frequent WC definitely fits your aim in giving them a better living condition.
no. 2 - not sure about this. no. 3 - yup, bettas do make use of KTP leaves as a hideout if available. I believe any fish would love hideout if there is any. maybe you can use a short pvc tube, but if your tank is too small then better not. no. 4 - you can feed frozen mysis, live adult brine shrimp, occasional baby guppy, any flying insects you caught, daphnia, or even pellets. Good Pellets, though considered as processed food, contains vitamins and cleaner in the long run. a mix of pellets and frozen is ideal imho. no. 5 - what do you mean by cannot flare? is there some defect/injury that prevents him from opening his gill operculum?

Thanks johannes...
1) realistically I don't think I will be able to do daily Wc this I think siphoning might be the best option. Able to assist me on where can I purchase it and any sample pic to show? 2) I will try to take a pic of that sticky slimy stuff inside. 3) noted. 4) where can I buy those product? 5) his gill can't open. But he do rush towards other Betta direction when I open the cupboard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No. 1 - can either use big pipette which can be found at LFS such as C328, Daiso or use air tubing with small tube lo
no. 4 - more popular LFS such as C328, Y618, NKS, seaview should have.
