I keep mine with an African Arowana, Giraffe Cats, small Bichirs, a Gold Line Wolf and a Giant Gourami.

They have different diet although the PNT will also take food meant for the others.

The PNT stomach is even more sensitive than humans. Tomatoes are deemed too acidic for them already. Once a while as treat is OK but not on frequent basis

Human and PNT stomach produce acidic to assist in food digestion.

hi pnt experts,

my 10-year-old pnt suddently developed this thing on its shell. for a weeks already, shell rot?

initially i thought it was fungal put my ocean free anti bacterial and anti fungal treatment but no use.

btw, is it a male or female?

Looks v much like fungus to me. Try the yellow powder it helps for me when my PNT is down with a fungus infection much severe than this.
Take it out of the water, pat dry then apply salt then yellow powder on the affected areas then when. Scalps form u can leave it in water to heal normally.

Looks like a male to me.

How did it get infected? Kanna bitten by its tank mates?

Check your water parameters. Definitely fungus. Take it out of water, apply fine salt and leave it it of water for ~1-2 hours for 3-4x a day. Bask it for ~0.5-1 hour each time.

What type of salt? Kitchen salt? Can't be aquarium salt right cos that's too coarse?

Confirm its a male? Not sure how it got the fungus.

There are fine aquraium salt available bro.

Seems like one from the shape of the tail. But best is once it reaches maturity then flash u the flower u can cfm it's a male

Either kitchen salt or fine aquarium salt.

Fungus on PNTs are usually due to poor water condition.

I will say 80% it's a male.
