for those that drop, the father might not be eating them but pick them up and put them back in position. hopefully other tankmates won't be disturbing them too much...

Thank you. The fries are growing bigger, so nice to see their wagging tails. Shall update again when theres significant increase in size, or when they are free swimming.

So far the tank has been quite peaceful, other angels have not been disturbing them too much. The parents have been great despite this being their first time too. Maybe because monsoon season, or 'inspired' by this current pair, but it seems like i have another blue-peru pair forming and cleaning the breeding slate at the other half of the tank! The blue(female) angel's tube is out, and sooo big, like a white poop that got stuck halfway. |

Best is to feed live food initially. Have you removed the other tank mates?

Have not removed the other tank mates So far I have not seen any reason to remove them. They have been very peaceful to the pair and have not tried to atk the spawn. I even spotted a fry that had strayed to the other side of the tank, meaning the other angels did not eat the fry even though it wasnt under protection I've siphoned it back to let the female put it back with the group though
I'm going to try using first bites for now since this is the first spawn, so shall experiment a bit. If it works, it'd save me the hassle next time. Do angels feed off the parent's slime like discus if they dun have live food? |

Update: Have removed the rest of the angels except for another potential blue-peru pair. Would be interesting to have a tank that has co-existing pairs producing the same fries
Fries could be free swimming by tmr. Alrdy starting to swim slightly rather than just 'sticking' onto the pipe. |
