Wah, this must be real surprising to some hobbyists/participants.

Yeah, damn sad. Some of them didn't even get a chance to be judged.

Well...at least I got a pleasant surpirse that my showa is one of the top 7 koi selected for GC challenge. And eventually came in 2nd, losing out to a Showa that recently came in 1st and Best in Size in Japan Major Show.

On the other hand, if this Showa went into Top 3 for GC, my will be 1st..

Not sure what's the reason but several of the big fishes (50bu and above) was suffering/died during the show. Most if not all of these fishes comes from one farm. Needless to say, that farm was very upset. Much speculations were made, even the idea of sabotage was brought up.

This has left a sour note to the Young Koi Show.

Oh...forgot to mention that the previous Best in size Showa in the previous Main Show came in 3rd, after my showa....

overall, ok lar....all except for a 35bu koroma and 30 kohaku didn't get a place, which were dominated by Nippon koi on the 40bu and below....
And the disappointment was with the 60bu Shiro.....
Well....I think "blue base" white is consider not as white in today show.

Our result :

65bu Showa - 2nd
60bu Shiro - 2nd
55bu Showa - 3rd
50bu Showa - 2nd
50bu Tancho - 1st
50bu Benigoi - 3rd
35bu Koromo - None
60bu Sanke - 2nd or 3rd (didn't manage to confirm)
55bu Shiro - 2nd
50bu Shiro - 1st
30bu Kohaku - None.

Bro..actually, getting 2nd or 3rd is not really any satisfactory result.
But anyway, it is not the event, but the opportunity to meet, chit chat with fellow hobbyists that is creating the trill and enjoyment.

next time if you go Jk or Diamond "scoop" fish, let us know.
Both Bro PY and myself like to "scoop" fish also....
