Anyway it depands on how many crabbies u have... The more u have the more u clean. =)
The sand can use the fine sand.. Easier to clean and they Love it!
I do not wash the sand often,mainly because they love to dig below to moult.If u disturb the sand,it will stress the hermit and other crab will attack this soft crab causing it to die.

What i do is just skim the top layer up for washing,dry it and replace.

O_O Wow i didnt know these hermits are so expensive now!! It's the new in-pet ah? = ] I still remember seeing these critters at Qianhu a yr ago, and i bought one for my baby cousin at $1.50 a pc back then..

Any bro out there succesfully breed these cute critters? = ]

So far no one succesfully breed these hermit crab.They need the sea to reproduce.Their lifespan is easily 20-30years.

You can hardly see them grow.

we did some discussion on painted vs naturals shells and the respective impact too..

Hi guys,..i got 2 hermit crab, 1 quite active another seem very quiet..sometime i even thou it is dead..it always hide in its shell and not eating. i take up the shell and see and it is still alive..but it jus dont wanan move around. what happen?
