Jebao does seem to be improving (at least with the power consumption) but quality is yet to be proven. I am into my 2nd Jebao FM 8000, after the first one konked out after 6-8 mths. If this one also cannot last, I will be switching to other pumps.....at least until I see feedback that Jebao has lowered their "lemon" percentage.

Bro shiokmc - your red dragon seems promising....please keep us updated on the performance
Ok my 2nd Jebao FM6500 (sorry not 8000) konked out after 15 months.

Have now switched to AMPHI 8000 (brought in by Qianhu) as recommended by C328 auntie. Cheaper ($120+) and same power consumption as FM series.

See how this goes.

Yep this is about the price of the FM6500 I bought a year ago, only now this is a 8000 L per hr pump. See how long it lasts.......so far functions just like the FM.....quiet and even has the same design....just that never state where its made.

I am using Atman 107 for a 5x2.5x2 ft tank. They last about 4-5 years on the average for me
