the powerhead is connected to the OHF. the only form of current comes from the water falling back into the tank.
no worries.

i got them from another forum member.
but looks like all those on sale have been cleared.

tio toto i immediate upgrade to 4ft tank liao. filled with fronts and calvus.

you want the fry? don't want can gimme?
i read that the calvus specialise in raiding the frys of other fishes.
we talk on sun yeah?

anyone got other pictures of altos to share?
i really think these are impressive fishes. very nice and high dorsal fin, and compressed body. makes them look very handsome.

full tank tang setups will be appreciated too. i need some inspiration.

Great, hope to see you upgrade soon. And YES, Tanganyika fishes are very poisonous. I started initially with fronts then came altos and now many other kind They next time you visit me might have got new kinds again

Altos are good tankmates as they feel very comfortable in a community tank and they can hold their own.
And one thing i like about them is...they don't bother other species in the tank.
Sharing pictures of my Altos in a 4x1.5x2 temporary holding tank before moving most of the inhabitants to their respective new setups which are undergoing overhaul...giving them ample space as they grow larger.

there's a mini war in my tank now.

one of the supposed "female" took territory under the powerhead.
whenever any other fish approaches, she will guard her territory fiercely.

is this a normal behaviour?

my other 3 calvus are socialising well. They have no problem being together.
