Has anyone tried Repashy Superfoods to feed aro?
Hi all,
Been looking around for alternative foods for my red. It's currently taking pellets, but I want to try other none live foods. My wife isn't keen on me feeding with market prawns. I came across Repashy Superfoods which seems to be popular with pleco keepers. There are versions for carnivores like aros. Has anyone here tried feeding their aros or other monster fish with Repashy? Is it messy? are they able to swallow it whole without too much "crumbs"? My aro creates a lot of "crumbs" when it "chews" on the pellets. For those new to it: it comes in powder form which can be mixed with hot water to form a jelly when cooled. I believe agar agar is one of the ingredients. Then it can be cut into pieces to feed. Even saw some photos where somebody made them into grub shape. The mixture can be painted onto rocks or tiles for plecos to scrape or algae grazers to nibble off. Seem squite versatile. Thanks. |

Would you enjoy eating powdery food mixed with water like jelly?
It doesn't sound appetizing at all..... I think a better way to use this thing is to mix with raw food (mp, worms etc) and feed to the fish for extra nutrients. |

Found lots of videos, but very few of predatory fish eating them whole.

Maybe you can try buying ghost shrimps, 1 small bag $1 can you keep it in a small fish tank, every day just net it to feed your arowana.

It's a planted Arowana tank. The shrimp will hide. Besides I want to avoid live food.

Alternatively, have you tried dried shrimps?
My best results from feeding pellets for my peacock bass is the hikari sinking carnivours pellets or arowana food sticks, hikari brand too. But you really need to take care of the water, fouls up very fast. |

I have SAEs in the tank. They don't get fed, so they eat the aro's leftovers and algae.
