L46 best substrate for breeding - very fine sand VS bare bottom. Please vote.
So my zebra tank is currently bare bottom, but I'd just like to poll everyone here.
Bare bottom or fine sand? Which is better for breeding and keeping them generally? |

For my grow-up tank to my Comm tank, both are bare-bottom.. Basically at the end of the day, tank and water mantenance will be easier..

more depends if your L46 wants to breed or not... for me, mine is bare bottom, that is because easier for maintenance..

I am one who don't like a bare bottomed tanks
so most, if not all, of my tanks are filled with thin layer of fine river sand and a couple with Dennerle gravel, including breeding and fry tanks no doubt the maintenance is higher when you compare to those bare tanks, but what to do... i can't stand reflective glass surface..

That's some kind of OCD too hahahaha
Anyway IMHO generally there are more that would prefer bare bottom for breeding n fry tanks. Simply because it is easier to maintain. ps. I am no guru la
