Default New Tank Cycle

I am new to this forum, and wondering how shall I set up my arowana tank. I was given two Rena XP4, two heaters, and a 200 gallon tank glass with canopy and stand from my very nice wife, so what is the best way to cycle the tank?

Thank you!

Hello! Welcome to the forum! Basically there's been a lot of articles on how to cycle your tank and you should read them up. Essentially there are either with commando fish or fish-less cycle. Either is fine. Good luck with the set up!

I would advise fishless cycle.. Why stress any fish while you can do it otherwise...

The common method would be throwing in a couple of market prawns. Having to wait for it to rot is a lengthy process. To speed it up, have the market prawns blended than pour in to the tank...

Agreed! U can cycle the 2 canisters in pails of water to speed up the process as well.. As ammonia will peak faster due to the less amount of water in pails compared to the whole 200 gallon tank..

Anyway nice tank Redfive!! 200 gal is a dream tank for many of us.. Wat are the dimensions? U have such a wonderful wife!!

Don't spoil the market... My Heavenly Juice is for self application only...

Moreover, there's Virgin and Non Virgin Heavenly Juice available for me to use for tank cycling...
