DIY air lift OHF
Finally managed to complete this project of mine. I am always thinking of how to use air bubbles for filtration instead of relying on pumps.
This is what I came up with: The flow rate is not very high but it does provide some mechanical filtration. |

Wat u did might as well get a small pump and run it, the bubble doesn't help making water more oxygen.nunless u got a high power pump , got extra output not to waste.
Else I dun see more benefit. |

increase the airflow input or lower the height of the water output might help ..

very nice. am planning to do the same.
vitor, such set up have certain key benefits in certain situation. location of electric point is one. although u don't see the bubbles, active oxygenation is actually achieve. ts, mind sharing the max level of the setup from the water level and the pump of choice? |

Actually it works better when the depth of water is higher. As I have said, the purpose is to use air lift instead of pump. With this arrangement, I can just use a hiblow and run many of these and use less electricity than many pumps.

Great idea for small/low maintenance set ups
Great spirit in DIY-ing bro! ps: the flow of water is actually more than what i expected. Definitely won't be able to achieve this result with a normal air pump. |

Same concept like those SUDO Satellite isolation boxes. Don't think would be feasible for high bioloads right bro?
