brudder michael, how to differentiate between the C. marulia & C. marulioides??

i thought toman bunga will have like 5-6 clusters of the "bunga" ...

Nice but seems stressed by the dark coloring body and staying put at the surface. Anything that scares it so much?

I m no expert i compare the body of marulia thai specimen usually hv sparking tiny white dot pearl on their body and fins and there flower are usually smaller, advance hobbyist in MFK compare their teeth. My malaysian wild caught toman bunga have more flower then the normal bunga. In my opinon flower will very wt different fishes when young i always like to buy mature fish to show its full potential & will develop again as they age. I prefer fishes wt more flower instead of the usual 5 - 7 cluster i hv seen. My big bunga is a very shy fish still not very stable yet turn dark like the above pic when i go near, but when it is comfortable is more yellow & brighter in colour. I m now adding ketapang leaves to bring down PH heard will make it stable faster.I m still learning abt this fish still looking for a better Malaysian or Indonesian specimen. Hope any members can enlighten me abt this fish my favorite of all giant channa.Free drop by lah big bro u are welcome always to view !

yup, adding K leafs (lots of it) is gd. some bring the pH lower so the flowers develop better... i personally dun dare to lower the pH, cos worry it may crash without us knowing ...

see when i free then i drop by ... i oso love this toman bunga ...
