Warning: This is a bloody Experience of Monster fish keeping.
My blood is still dripping while i painstakingly write this massage.(Kidding)
just as i was bathing my Aro, and listening to Kiss 92 top 10 count down, little that i knew that it was also the counting down of the predator strike. Ryan Seacrest announced the top in billboard, and no doubt i'm in it. it happened and followed by curse and swears. This is the teeth that bites the tongue. I showered and figure out 2 possible causes of the incident. 1. My Aro is hungry, and i look delicious. 2. One of the LFS boss advised me to talk to the fish, and the response is a bite. maybe my aro dont understand singlish. Having to overcome this painful incident, i feel the need to warn all fellow hobbyist the safety precaution of manhandling the wild. Here are some of my humble suggestion; 1. Always be protected. 2. Feed them before bathing . 3. Understand and learn fish language. This may be one of the many hints of how Aro express their grievances. Have you heard your aro yet? *I apologies if this thread lead to any misconception! *Read at your own will. *Thank you for Reading! |

I never put my hand in tank unless catching fish or arranging something but on an alert look out. For wc, only use magnet cleaner and hoses inside water. I dont scare aro bite but scare them jump out. Only fish in my tank i afraid is ray and gar.

One way to minimize the biting incident is to clamp your fist to enter the water and not with 5 fingers looking like good fish food to them when you put your hand into the tank. I got my fair share of bites from my aros over the years.
