PH stabilizers

Just wondering, what kinda water stabilizers are the brothers here using to keep PH at 6.6.

Not sure to mix Seachem Neutral regulator with Discus buffer or use some other brand to keep the PH stable. Im keeping a bbxb and BDsp ray. These are the 2 main fishes in my tank. And some ITs.

with the stingray in your tank, bioload will be high.
include pH buffers like coral chips and oyster shells in your filter.
pH should be around 7 after water change and drop over time as your fishes poop.
Do WC if pH drops to unhealthy level (with the stingray, it should happen quite regularly, maybe a few times a week)
you can also dose some baking soda (Sodium bicarbonate, NaHCO3) to help bring up the pH and buffer the pH.

I have 1kg of coral chips in my OHF. Seems sufficient to buffer the water. Don't wanna make it too hard.. I change water 1 or 2x a week it seems.

Just wondering. Will sodium bicarbonate also buffer the PH down if PH is too high? Cuz my water here is generally 8.4PH I think.

no. sodium bicarbonate keeps the pH stable and slightly alkaline.
If your pH is 8.4, you should not be adding sodium bicarbonate.
may need to soften the water with peat.

The last time I played with peat. Ph from 7 crashed to abt 5.. lol not easy to control PH with peat and crushed corals.. I will try again.. maybe equal part peat to crushed coral.. or... see how it goes..
