Default First attempt at planted nano

Hi guys,

Just wanted to share my first attempt at a low tech planted nano. Got it up and running yesterday

-8 Liters Glass Tank
-Dolphin HOB Filter
-Aquazonic 4w LED lighting
-Gex Plant Soil

Plants are dwarf hairgrass in the foreground, anubias petite in the midground and crypts in the background. Not forgetting the mandatory moss ball

Any tips or comments would be much appreciated!

Hi bro, thanks for the tips. While cycling do you suggest to change water every day? I've heard conflicting views on this. Lightiing at about 6-8 hours daily for the moment.

During cycling should not change, but do reduce photoperiod because of excess nutrients in the water that can lead to algae bloom. Imo 6hours a day should be fine, when the plants get more matured u can increase to 8. However if algae is not a problem in ur tank then u need not worry abt these. i rly suggest u get seachem excel for low tech setups, helps provide carbon source while reducing growth of algae, rly works!
